ServSafe Manager Passing Score

The ServSafe Manager exam is scored on a 0-100 scale and 75 is passing. That number is the same for every version of the exam, but it is not 75% of the questions.

What that means in practice:

  • The exam has 90 scored questions (plus a handful of unscored pilot items).

  • 75/100 is a scaled score, so a handful of misses is survivable; a run of misses in one domain is not, because the exam is blueprint-weighted.

  • Failing domains are reported back to you on the score report. That report is the single most useful study document you will get all year.

Most people fail on Domain 3 (time and temperature control) and Domain 2 (personal hygiene), not on the obscure regulation items.
