ServSafe vs. Prometric vs. other food manager exams
Three credentials dominate US food manager certification:
ServSafe Food Protection Manager (National Restaurant Association) — the one most chains and most states recognise.
Prometric Food Protection Manager Certification — ANSI-accredited, common in grocery and manufacturing.
360training / StateFoodSafety / Learn2Serve — state-approved courses that feed into one of the accredited exams.
They are not interchangeable for the provider’s own course, but the content overlap is large: FDA Food Code, time and temperature control, cross-contamination, cleaning and sanitising, and a management-systems domain.
Before you buy anything, check which credential your state or county health department accepts, and whether your employer reimburses a specific one.
